Temecula Full-Mouth Reconstruction With Dr. Mundl
One plan for every tooth that needs work

What reconstruction means when several teeth are failing at once
A smile reconstruction is the full restoration of a mouth with several damaged, worn, missing or failing teeth, all done with one coordinated plan. Dr. Paul Mundl’s full-mouth reconstruction in Temecula begins with a full diagnosis that includes CBCT imaging and a digital scan of your bite and ends with restorations that are designed to work as a set.
Most patients who come to us for this have been handling problems one at a time for years. A crown here, a filling there, a tooth lost and never replaced. Rebuilding stops that pattern by treating the mouth as one system: how your teeth meet, what is carrying the load of your bite, and what will still be sound a decade from now.
Why does accreditation matter for this kind of work?
Dr. Mundl is the only AACD-accredited cosmetic dentist in Temecula, and comprehensive rebuilds are where that credential does its heaviest lifting.
Accreditation from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry requires submitting real, finished patient cases for blind grading by an examining board, alongside written and oral examinations. Fewer than 500 dentists worldwide have earned it.
Rebuilding a full mouth asks for two things at once: the restorative planning that keeps a bite stable, and the aesthetic judgment that decides shade, shape, and proportion. Accreditation tests the second one against a national standard.
The treatments a reconstruction is built from
Your plan draws from the treatments below in whatever combination your mouth calls for. Few patients need all of them.

Dental implants
An implant replaces the root of a missing tooth so the restoration above it has something solid to bite against. We work with the Straumann implant system using genuine components, and we handle the restorative side. Surgical placement goes to an oral surgeon who specializes in implants, and we design and fit the crown, bridge, or denture that attaches to it.

All-On-X full-arch restoration
All-On-X restores an entire arch on a small number of implants. Dr. Mundl plans these cases for minimal bone reduction and FP1-style prosthetics, which keeps the finished result reading as teeth instead of an appliance.

Implant-supported dentures
Some patients want the removable convenience of a denture without the movement. Implant-retained overdentures anchor to implants, and Dr. Mundl also designs bar overdentures, including the MK1 design, for cases that need more support across the arch.

Crowns, inlays, and onlays
Where the root is sound, a cracked or heavily worn tooth gets rebuilt rather than replaced. We restore in Ivoclar e.max and GC LiSi Press porcelain, Katana and Ivoclar Prime zirconia, and gold, choosing the material based on how much force that particular tooth has to absorb.

Porcelain veneers
Veneers cover the front teeth when the structure underneath is healthy but the shape, color, or edge has been lost to wear. We use feldspathic porcelain, with no-prep and minimal-prep options that preserve more of your own tooth.

Smile makeovers
When your foundation is stable and the goal is appearance, the plan shifts toward cosmetic treatment and moves faster than a structural rebuild.
How do we plan a full-mouth case?
We don’t suggest a plan until the diagnosis is finished. That order matters, because a rebuild designed around incomplete records tends to come apart at the bite.
- ^Records first: CBCT imaging and an intraoral scan give us bone volume, root position, and a clear picture of how your teeth meet.
- ^A simulation you can look at: Smile PreVU produces a before-and-after digital preview, so you see the expected result before any work starts.
- ^Alignment before restoration when it earns its place: moving teeth with clear aligners first often means less tooth structure has to be removed later. Dr. Mundl recommends it when it reduces the restorative work rather than adding a step.
- ^The full plan in writing: treatment sequence, timing, and cost, laid out before you decide.
- ^Temporaries throughout: you get temporary front teeth immediately after the implant is placed. You won’t leave with a removable flipper or a gap.
When a rebuild doesn’t have to involve the whole mouth
Plenty of cases need three teeth addressed, not thirty. If your problems are contained, the answer is usually straightforward restorative care rather than a staged reconstruction, and we will tell you so at the consultation.
Fillings, individual crowns, bridges, and dentures all sit on the restorative side of our practice. Starting there keeps treatment shorter and less expensive, and it leaves the door open if more work becomes necessary later.
What to Expect
Choosing us for a comprehensive rebuild means you can expect:
- A complete diagnostic workup before any treatment is recommended
- One sequenced plan instead of disconnected appointments booked as problems appear
- Restorations from a cosmetic dental lab, shaded and shaped to your natural teeth
- Costs and timing on the table before you commit to anything
Comfort through the longer appointments
Rebuilding several teeth means more time in the chair, and that’s a real obstacle for some patients. Dr. Mundl offers nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation administered by a dental anesthesiologist. Raise it at your consultation, and we will build your visits around it.
